Monthly Recycling & Reuse Initiative for Shanganagh Castle Residents
We’re pleased to let residents know about a simple monthly initiative that helps make life at Shanganagh Castle a little greener, a little easier, and a little more circular.
How it works: once you’ve made a booking with Reloop, your items should be placed outside your apartment door by 9 a.m. on the 11th of each month. Reloop will also send a reminder text the day before collection.
What is available?
Through the Shanganagh Castle Reloop page, residents can access a number of useful services designed to reduce waste and encourage reuse within the community.
Clothing Collection for Charity
Residents can book a free collection of pre-loved clothing items, helping give them a second life through local charity partners.
Tech & Household Electricals
Unused personal tech and household electrical items can also be collected, with a focus on reuse, refurbishment, donation, or responsible recycling.
Lending Library
Residents can also access a lending library for useful items that are only needed occasionally, helping save money, reduce clutter, and cut down on unnecessary buying.
Why this matters
This is exactly the kind of initiative that suits a growing community like Shanganagh Castle. It makes it easier for residents to:
- reduce waste going to landfill,
- support charity through good-quality donations,
- reuse and recirculate items that still have value, and
- borrow items instead of buying things that may only be used once or twice.
It is a practical example of circular living at community level: use more, waste less, and make it easier for good items to stay in circulation.
Examples of what can be collected
For charity collections, Reloop says residents can donate items such as clothes, shoes, bags and books, provided they are clean and in good condition.
For personal tech and household electricals, the accepted list includes items such as mobile phones, tablets, e-readers, headphones, power banks, digital cameras, smartwatches and small monitors or TVs up to 34 inches.
